Stillwater Montessori School - Stillwater Montessori School was started in August 1983 by Joanne and Joe Alex. The School has grown from one classroom of 24 students to 3 Primary classrooms, 1 Lower Elementary (6-9 years), 1 Upper Elementary (9-12 years) and 1 Middle School (13-14 years). Stillwater Montessori School is located 1 mile from the University of Maine in Orono. Special instructional programs this year include French, Music and Dance. |

Maine Mathematics Science and Engineering Talent Search - MMSETS provides challenging math problems for students in grades 5 through 12. MMSETS is free to all participants, except for the postage to cover mailing submissions. Those who are students in schools and colleges now are going to enter a "problem solving based workplace "but they are part of a "certificate based" education. In an attempt to narrow the gap between these approaches, six years ago we started the Maine Mathematics Science and Engineering Talent Search Program. |

Merging the power of imagination with the excitement of discovery, students will work as teams in mission control and aboard a space station, using many of the same techniques used by NASA.
