Maine Center on Aging - The Center on Aging is a university-wide, interdisciplinary center specializing in aging education, research and community service. Its academic home is the University of Maine School of Social Work and the College of Business, Public Policy, and Health. Senior $ense Program Directory - Directory of websites focused on Maine's poverty level elderly. Some of the issues the Senior $ense directory covers are: job skills development, discounted prescription drugs, minor home repair, personal financial management education, transportation, and consumer protection.

  • Bureau of Elder and Adult Services - Provides services, education, and consultation in order to promote independence for older citizens or adults in need of protective or supportive services.

  • HealthWeb of Maine - An information resource for the health of Maine citizens. Includes research, consumer, and provider issues as well as public health terms. Hosted by Time Warner Cable of Maine.

  • Legal Services for the Elderly - Variety of legal resources and forms relevant to Maine's elderly population.

  • Maine Alzheimer's Association - Raises public awareness and serves as the statewide resource on Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by providing information, education, referral, and support services to families and professionals.

  • Maine Long Term Care Ombudsman Program - A Swedish word, Ombudsman (pronounced om-budz-man) is a specially trained advocate who is given authority under federal and Maine law to investigate and resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, long-term care consumers.

  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLE) - The first program for Maine people, 55 and older. Members devise the curriculum and enroll in non-credit classes taught by peers, primarily retired faculty from USM and other institutions.

  • Senior Community Service Employment Program - Provides part-time community service employment assignments for persons with low incomes who are 55 years old or older and provides community services while promoting transition to unsubsidized employment.
