Maine For ME's directory structure is based on and organized by the subject matter of the sites listed.  When a site is suggested for a free listing, our site's administrators visit the suggested site, consider the content, then place the site in the best possible category.  However, to be keep site maintenance time to a minimum, we require the user of Maine For ME to provide a category that they think would be the best placement for their listing.

For these reasons, we ask that you follow these simple steps to suggest a URL for the Maine For ME business directory:

This first step is important. The easiest way to find out whether or not your site is located in the Maine For ME business directory is to do a search on our entire database.  You can check by selecting "Site Search" from our navigation menu and entering the title of your company/site.  If your site appears in the list of matches you are in the directory.

(Note: If your site is already listed in the directory, but would like to change the information related to it or move up to "Recommended Business" status, you will need to contact us directly through the "Contact Us" section of the site.)

Finding an appropriate category for your site is a requirement for suggesting a site.  To do this, simply click on "Biz Directory" on our navigation menu and navigate to the most relevant category for your site.  As stated earlier, accurate categorization on the part of the user helps facilitate the listing process for our web administrators and will get you listed faster and more accurately.

Once you've found the most appropriate category for your site, you are ready to suggest it. Just click on the "Suggest a Site" link on the top right of the category page. Please remember that the final placement of your site is determined by Maine For ME's website administrators.

When you click on "Suggest a Site" in the appropriate category, you'll see an online form asking for information about your site. (Please be aware that by simply suggesting a free listing, you will be listed under "Standard Listings" with a large number of other companies.  To increase the visibility of your site by being placed above all of the "Standard Listings", as well as add a logo and contact information, you can become a "Recommended Business".  For more information on how to become a "Recommended Business", click here.)

In the "category" space on the form, you'll see the name of the category you've chosen. Please be prepared to provide, among other information, your site's title, URL, and a brief description.
